Ryan Timms returned to the driver’s seat of the Keith Kunz/Curb-Agajanian Motorsports No. 67 Midget on Friday evening for the USAC NOS Energy Drink Midget National Championship doubleheader.
Amongst a field of 37 entries, Timms timed in 11th-quick before dashing to a 10-lap heat race victory. Fending off numerous challengers throughout the 30-lap feature, Ryan led at three different stages but grabbed the lead from good from Jake Andreotti on lap 19. He paced the final 11 circuits to capture his third win of the season 2.253 seconds ahead of Andreotti with Daison Pursley, Tanner Thorson, and Logan Seavey completing the top-five finishers.
For Saturday’s finale, Timms raced his way into the main event with a runner-up showing in his heat race. Chasing a $6,000 payday in the feature, Ryan advanced forward seven spots in the 40-lap affair to finish 14th.
On Sunday afternoon for the John Hinck Championship at Sweet Springs Motorsports Complex (Sweet Springs, Mo.), Ryan grabbed the sixth-and-final transfer spot in his consolation race after missing at transfer spot in his heat. With $6,000 on the line, Timms improved one spot to finish 15th.
Ryan is currently seventh in the USAC NOS Energy Drink Midget National Championship.
