KNOXVILLE, IOWA (September 27, 2012) - The Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, will once again host the joint National Sprint Car Hall of Fame (NSCHoF)/Eastern Museum of Motor Racing (EMMR) benefit auction on Saturday, September 29, at 11 a.m. The annual joint auction is free and open to the public, and will be held near the backstretch pit gate on the afternoon of the 50th annual Morgan Hughes Williams Grove National Open, sanctioned by the World of Outlaws (WoO) Sprint Car Series.
According to National Sprint Car Museum special events coordinator David Herrmann, “We are pleased to be in central Pennyslvania again this fall to work with the Eastern Museum of Motor Racing and the Williams Grove Speedway on this joint fundraising event. We have brought some really unique, autographed memorabilia this year for the auction, including an original “Stand on the Gas” book by Joe Scalzo, a Justin Henderson-autographed Buffalo Wild Wings #82 wing panel, and a Jeff Gordon-autographed 1/24-scale Dupont NASCAR die-cast stock car, and many more autographed memorabilia items”.
Herrman also stated, “We have also brought our Don Ott-powered, Eagle-chassis raffle sprint car number 9, which is in the final stages of its eighteen-month national tour before it is raffled on December 21, 2012. ‘Pennsylvania Posse’ fans are some of our most loyal raffle ticket buyers and we really appreciate their support of our raffles and our museum. It is always a real pleasure to come east and renew our friendships out here. This will be our final Pennsylvania stop for raffle car #9 before we give it away in just a couple of months, and we wanted to be sure and let everyone coming to the National Open this weekend know that we will be at Williams Grove".
