Inside Line Promotions – ROSSBURG, Ohio (May 9, 2023) – Big Game Motorsports driver David Gravel captured back-to-back top-five finishes last weekend during the #LetsRaceTwo event hosted by Eldora Speedway.
The performances were the 11th and 12th top fives of the season with the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series, leading the way out of all the competitors. Also of note, Gravel set quick time during qualifying on Saturday night for his 100th career Quick Time Award.
The busy weekend began on Friday when Gravel timed in ninth quickest in his group after going out late in the qualifying order. He then hustled from fifth to third place in a heat race and from 10th to fifth place in the A Main.
Saturday’s program started with the monumental Quick Time Award followed by a heat race victory. Unfortunately, Gravel pulled the second-highest number – seven – in the dash draw and he finished where he started – seventh – in the dash to garner the seventh starting spot in the main event.
Gravel quickly worked into the top five and advanced as high as second place before ending with a third-place result.
“We had an awesome car there early on, definitely had the most maneuverable car and were really good early on,” he said in a post-race interview on DIRTvision. “Wherever they went, I kind of did the opposite and passed guys. It was a solid weekend.”
A trio of races in Pennsylvania fill this week’s schedule for Big Game Motorsports. The Gettysburg Clash is Wednesday at Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown followed by the Morgan Cup on Friday and Saturday at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg.
Gravel won a World of Outlaws race at Lincoln Speedway in 2017. He has wins with the series at Williams Grove Speedway in 2020 (twice), 2019 (twice), 2017 (three times) and 2014.
