SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (May 3, 2023) - Although a slow start to the year that witnessed Mother Nature ruin much of the team’s early season schedule, Sheboygan, Wisconsin’s Scotty Thiel and Premier Motorsports remain eager and ready to rock and roll, not only setting focus on their return to All Star Circuit of Champions competition, but also working to make their mark with the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series. In all, Thiel and Pete Grove’s familiar No. 70 will make three starts during the coming weekend, blasting off with a $10,000-to-win visit to Atomic Speedway tomorrow evening.
“It’s time to really get this season going,” Thiel, ace of Pete Grove’s Walker’s Game Ear, Lumber & Things, Professional Plating, Scott Thiel Builders, Stealth Cam, Muddy Outdoors, Lutes Custom Cabinetry, Linc Systems, Complete Water Inc, No. 70 sprint car, said. “This is a big swing with a lot of money on the line each night, but I’m confident we have the equipment and the knowledge to be competitive every single night. It’s been a slow start to the year with the weather, but it’s also given us a chance to reevaluate our program and fine tune some things. We’re ready to see what we can do.”
As noted, Thiel’s full-time All Star commitments will get back underway tomorrow evening, Thursday, May 4, with a stop at Atomic Speedway in Chillicothe, Ohio. Dubbed The Night The Stars Come Out, also featuring the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series, the one-night blockbuster will award a $10,000 payday, igniting a busy month for “America’s Series” that will include nine additional events across Illinois, Wisconsin, New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.
Thiel and Premier Motorsports will ultimately cap their major trek through the Buckeye State with a visit to the World’s Greatest Dirt Track, Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio, on Friday and Saturday, May 5-6. Featuring the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series, the Eldora doubleheader will not only give The Big Wheel his first taste of The Big E in 2023, but it will also assure valuable lap time, as the former IRA Outlaw Sprint Series regular plans to return to Eldora for their big money slate in mid-July.
“I can’t thank Pete Grove and the entire team enough for this opportunity. It takes time to gel, but we’re doing everything we can to really expedite the process,” Thiel added. “The big thing now is lap time and momentum…we want both.”

“Big Wheel” Scotty Thiel and Premier Motorsports will continue their 2023 campaign with a major swing through the Buckeye State, first joining the All Star Circuit of Champions at Atomic Speedway in Chillicothe, Ohio, on Thursday, May 4, flanked with Eldora Speedway’s two-day World of Outlaws invasion on Friday and Saturday, May 5-6.
