RS12 Motorsports drivers Brian Rieck and Harrison Robards took part in both winged and non-winged Micro action over the weekend, competing in multiple classes across two states.
On Friday evening, the drivers were among 20 600cc Non-Wing Micro competitors at Doe Run Raceway (Doe Run, Missouri) looking to score the evening’s $500 top prize.
Rieck finished fourth in his heat in his Spartan Transportation No. 12 car, putting the Lake St. Louis, Missouri, driver 13th on the grid for the A-Main. He advanced seven positions in 20 laps to come home with a sixth-place finish on the 1/6-mile dirt oval.
Meanwhile, Robards drove his Miner’s Towing No. 11H to a sixth-place result in his heat race after starting from the fourth spot.
However, the young driver from Dardenne Prairie, Missouri, was unable to make the call for the 20-lap main event due to a clutch failure with no spare on-hand.
On Saturday, the team shifted to the 1/8-mile Southern Illinois Raceway (Marion, Illinois) where each driver took part in two classes.
In Non-Wing Outlaws X, Rieck transferred to the main event after an eighth-place finish in his heat and a fourth-place result in his B-Main. He began the A-Main from 24th on the grid and moved forward 15 positions to take the checkered flag in the ninth spot.
Rieck also took part in the Winged Outlaws class at Southern Illinois and turned in a sixth-place result in his heat. He gained two positions during the feature to finish 10th.
Meanwhile, in the A Class, Robards drove from sixth to third in his heat, putting him fourth on the grid for the A-Main. He picked up one position in the race to finish in third and on the podium.
In Winged Outlaws action, Robards ran from fifth to eighth in his heat, but faded from his sixth starting spot in the main event to come home ninth.
