I-90 Speedway season opens Saturday with car show, practice

The 2023 season at I-90 Speedway in Hartford, South Dakota, will open this Saturday with a special car show and practice day.

The day starts in the Pizza Ranch and Sunshine Foods parking lots in Hartford where cars will be on display from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Each regular division of the RPM Race Series of I-90 Speedway will have a best of show award recipient.

The day then transitions to the speedway where practice will begin at approximately 3 p.m. and run until dusk. Each driver who participates in the car show will receive three free pit passes for practice. Additional passes will be available for purchase. The stands of the speedway will be open and are free of charge.

The RPM Race Series Season Opener then takes center stage to start the racing action on Saturday, May 6. The pit area will open at 2 p.m. with drivers and teams expected to report by 4:30 to ensure all paperwork is completed. The stands open at 5 p.m. with cars taking the track at 6:30. Tickets are available now at www.i90speedway.com.

All drivers will need to complete a W9 for prior to competition.
