Ryan Timms invaded the Land of Lincoln on Friday afternoon to pilot his Hampel Oil No. 5T Sprinter at Jacksonville Speedway (Jacksonville, Ill.) for the track’s opening night.
After charging from fifth-to-first in his heat race, Ryan grabbed the lead on the drop of the green flag in the feature and never looked back, soaring to his first win of the season in dominant fashion. He finished 5.790 seconds ahead of Zach Hampton with Korey Weyant, Danny Sams III, and Shelby Bosie completing the top-five finishers.
With the 410 Boss Outlaws Sprint League on Saturday at Benton Speedway (Benton, Mo.), Timms topped the 21-car field in qualifying with a 12.753-second lap before picking up a heat race victory. Rebounding after getting turned around while running second in the feature, Ryan came from the tail to finish ninth in the 25-lapper.
