Crystal, MI (Saturday, April 22, 2023) - Officials with the Great Lakes Super Sprints Presented by Engine Pro and ARP (GLSS) and Crystal Motor Speedway have made the difficult decision to suspend the GLSS event scheduled for Saturday, April 22nd. Due to cold and wet weather forecasted throughout much of the day and into the evening for Saturday, the suspension comes in the best interest of fans, drivers, and promotional partners alike.
Last week, fans saw the diligent work that officials with Crystal Motor Speedway put in as an attempt to race last Saturday. Similarly, this week's suspension comes with no lack of determination and desire to race; however, the unfavorable forecast predicts an uphill battle for race day. Travel time for fans, drivers, and officials was also taken into consideration for suspending the event.
Officials with Crystal Motor Speedway and GLSS are working to find a suitable postponement date.
The next event for the Great Lakes Super Sprints is scheduled to be Friday and Saturday at I-75 Raceway in Niota, Tennessee. The event offers multiple sanctions including the USCS, GLSS, and NRA. For more information, visit www.GreatLakesSprints.com.
