Having to find somewhere to race, where Mother Nature wasn't took Landon Britt to Oklahoma and Missouri over the weekend.
Action opened on Friday night at Tulsa (Okla.) Speedway, where Britt jumped behind the wheel of the Shophouse Racing No. 17 for a 305 c.i. Sprint Car event.
Landon hit the ground running with a third-to-first run in his heat race, which locked him into the second-starting spot for the night's feature.
He paced the first 11 circuits of the main event, before losing steering on a lap 12 restart. Without steering he careened into the wall. Thankfully he was uninjured, but the car was done for the night and credited with a 13th-place finish.
On Saturday night he rolled into Nevada (Mo.) Speedway for an American Sprint Car Series (ASCS) Sooner Region event.
Fifteen Sprinters took to the Show-Me State oval, and back behind the wheel of his own No. 10, Landon advanced from fourth to second in his heat race.
Starting fourth on the feature grid he fell back as far as fifth early in the 25-lap affair before rebounding to finish second behind Sean McClelland with Slater Helt, Ben Brown, and Chase Porter completing the Top-5 finishers.
