Inside Line Promotions – SPRINGFIELD, Neb. (April 3, 2023) – Jack Dover plans to kick off an abbreviated season this Friday at U.S. 36 Raceway.

The dirt oval near Osborn, Mo., hosts the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series during the Osborn Sprint Car Showdown. Dover will be behind the wheel of the Rick and Chris Bowers’ No. 81 sprint car.

“Being the first race of the year and competing with the World of Outlaws my goal is to make the A Main,” Dover said. “There will be a bunch of great drivers there. If we can make the main event it will be a good night. Anything beyond that would be a bonus.”

Dover has enjoyed success at the high-banked oval, where he has earned at least one top five in 13 of the 14 years he’s competed there. He was victorious at the track in 2008, 2010, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2016 and in 2018.

“We’ve won a lot of races there and a lot of big races,” he said. “It’s like my home track of Eagle Raceway (in Eagle, Neb.) so I’ve always been comfortable there. Anywhere you’ve won races it adds to your confidence when you hit the track.”

Friday marks the first of a handful of races this season with the Bowers. Dover also has approximately 15-to-18 shows planned in his No. 53 winged sprint car this season as he has taken on a new primary role in racing as crew chief for Tim Estenson.

“We’ve been working hard getting ready for the season,” Dover said. “Tim will be racing this Friday as well so I’ll be doing double duty. We had planned on racing with him already this season, but we’ve been rained out. It’ll be a learning year where we’ll have good nights and bad nights. Hopefully we can both put together good performances this Friday and build on it.”
