VRA Midgets are returning to continue their season after earlier competition this season. Returning drivers will be racing to see who will come out on top of the points race in the VRA Midget Series standings. Tonight is the third race in the Battle At the Beach Series within a series. We hope to see most of our top drivers back tonight to compete for the season championship that was won by Cory Kruseman in 2011. The class will compete in a series of 8 lap heats, semi mains as needed and a 30 lap feature. Wins so far in 2012 have gone to Greg Edenholm, Cory Kruseman and Danny Ebberts and last race winner Ronnie Gardner. Gardner took the win at the 2012 FAIR race on August 1. He will be back tonight to go for his third win in this highly competitive series. Gardner and Greg Edenholm are tied in the points race with 1205 points with Cody Swanson 5 points back at 1200 points. In the Battle of the Beach Series Ronnie Gardner hold a lead of 60 points over Danny Ebberts and 70 points over Cody Swanson.
IMCA Modifieds return to action tonight with point leader Jack Parker leading them into competition. So far Parker leads Brad Prows, Wayne Heurung and Mark Davis in the season point race. All these drivers will be out to make their moves in the season long point battle as their season winds down.
VRA Go Karts return after their last race August 1st was won by Mike Evans. After seven races Cody Nigh leads Justin Raper by 100 points and Kenny Byers Jr by 145 points. Tonight Evans will be back to go for two in a row over the rest of the VRA Kart racers.
Tonight we will welcome the QRC Karts to competition at Ventura Raceway. These small winged racers will race on the infield track. We hope that you will enjoy these new competitors at Ventura Raceway.
The final class racing tonight is our VRA Sport Compacts. Point leader Jess Carlucci leads the field into competition tonight. The 2012 FAIR race went to Trevor Fitzgibbon over Zack Peterson and point leader Carlucci.
