Regional competition continues with three ASCS regions seeing action. The Engine Pro ASCS Sprints on Dirt presented by ARP, Griffith Truck and Equipment ASCS Gulf South, and Oil Medics ASCS Lone Star Regions will all see competition this weekend.
Gulf South / Lone Star
Making their fourth stop at the Heart O’ Texas Speedway, the Griffith Truck and Equipment ASCS Gulf South Region has seen three separate winners. Taking advantage of a weekend off the Lucas Oil ASCS presented by MAVTV, Wayne Johnson grabbed the win on March 30th. George White grabbed his lone victory of the season in Gulf South competition on April 27th with Kevin Ramey doing the same on July 20th.
Racing at the Heart O’ Texas Speedway is scheduled for Friday August 24th.
Combining for a night at the Devil’s Bowl, the Griffith Truck and Equipment ASCS Gulf South Region along with the Oil Medics ASCS Lone Star Region will be in competition Saturday August 25th at the famed half-mile. In Oil Medics ASCS Lone Star competition at the Devil’s Bowl Matt Covington has a pair of wins this season on April 21st and May 19th. Travis Rilat upset the No. 11c winning streak on June 2nd.
The Lucas Oil ASCS presented by MAVTV joined the Lone Star Region on June 15th and 16th for the Summer Nationals with Wayne Johnson and Brian Brown taking top honors however it was Kolt Walker taking Lone Star high points on June 15th with Matt Covington ranking as the highest finishing Lone Star driver on June 16th.
Racing at the Devil’s Bowl Speedway is scheduled for Saturday August 25th.
Sprints on Dirt
It is a busy weekend of the Engine Pro ASC S Sprints on Dirt presented by ARP with a pair of nights on tap. Making their third scheduled stop to Cherry Speedway, round one at the Michigan oval was washed out. Taking the win at the series return in July was Dustin Daggett who currently rides seventh in series standings.
Races at Cherry Speedway are scheduled for Friday August 24th.
Following races at Cherry Speedway, the Sprints on Dirt will head to Owendale Speedway for the second time in 2012. Gregg Dalman captured the win on July 7th. Currently atop the points for the Sprints on Dirt, Dalman holds a 61 point advantage over Ryan Grubaugh.
Races at Owendale Speedway are scheduled for Saturday August 25th.
