(Oxnard CA, Noel Dawson, August 13) Lucas Oil is a name synonymous with supporting motorsports around the world. In 2012, Lucas came on board at Ventura Raceway as a track sponsor. Now they’ve expanded that program as the new sponsor of the Hard Charger Award for the Sprint Car and Midget divisions.
In each Sprint Car and Midget feature throughout the 2012 season, the driver who passes the most cars will be awarded a $50 product certificate. This season has witnessed some stirring drives including Clark Templeman III’s drive from 15th to win the Sprint Car Feature on June 2nd and Danny Ebberts run from 10th to finish 2nd in the June 16th Midget
Feature.
Tom Bogner, is the Director of Motorsports for Lucas and his involvement goes much deeper than just business. His son Zac races frequently in the Focus Midget division. Bogner shared these comments about Lucas’ involvement with Ventura: “Lucas Oil products Inc., based out of Corona California a world leader in Oil Additives and Racing Oils are proud to supply the hard chargers with some much needed help in these tough economical times. I really enjoy spending time at Ventura as my son races with you all in the Ford Focus Midget class when time permits. We wish you all the greatest of success this season.”
The VRA Midgets will be the first to vie for the Lucas Oil Hard Charger Award when they return to action August 25th as Ventura Raceway comes back from its three week break for the Ventura County Fair.
