Schuett Racing, Inc. has made great strides in the past month of the season. Derek Schuett is back in the top ten of the POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micro Series point standings, currently sitting in ninth. Derek was in the top ten in points earlier in the season, but suffered a major setback at Lincoln Speedway after an engine failure in his heat race parked him for the evening. “This just goes to show the hard work and dedication that this team has,” Derek mentioned about the past few weeks of racing. “We didn’t let the Lincoln Speedway incident get us down. Those situations can be a part of racing and you have to take them in stride.”
Kyle Schuett, driver of the 9K Runaway Chassis, made a great rebound from the bad luck he had at “The 66” Keizer Wheels Mike Phillip’s Memorial by winning his heat race at the Washington (Mo.) Town and Country Fair, Saturday 8/4. Both Kyle and Derek made the feature from their heats, but the night was cut short due to a batch of strong storms that moved into the area. Look for both of these drivers in Belleville, Illinois Sunday, August 12th at the Belle-Clair fairgrounds for the POWRi sanctioned Arnie Knepper Memorial race.
