Climbing aboard the Keith Kunz/Curb-Agajanian Motorsports No. 67 Midget to kick off the 2023 campaign, Ryan Timms invaded Tulsa Expo Raceway (Tulsa, Okla.) on Monday afternoon to pilot the Mobil 1 backed entry for the 37th annual Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Nationals.
With 83 entries amassed for his qualifying night, Timms turned back a charging Gavin Boschele in his heat to pick up the eight-lap victory. With a third-to-first showing in his qualifier placing him on the second row for the preliminary feature, Ryan settled with a seventh-place finish in the 30-lapper after running in the top-five in the early stages of the race.
Returning on Saturday afternoon to start on the sixth row of his B-Main for one last chance into the Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Nationals, Timms charged forward six positions to claim a transfer spot into the main event. Improving two positions in the talent-laden 24-car field, Ryan crossed the line in 19th in the 55-lap affair.
