Inside Line Promotions – COLUMBIA, Mo. (Nov. 14, 2022) – The 2022 campaign featured a big step forward for Bryant Paver Motorsports driver Garet Williamson.
The team captured a trio of feature victories and found consistency, recording its most top fives and top 10s in a season.
“Other than East Bay at the beginning of the season I think we made every 360 A Main,” Williamson said. “We had a lot of races without a crew chief, which put the learning and decision making on my shoulders. I learned a lot about the setup and the race car in general as well as what it takes to be competitive.”
Williamson scored a victory at The Dirt Track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in Las Vegas in January before he returned to Victory Lane in September at Adams County Speedway in Quincy, Ill., with the Sprint Invaders. One week later he posted a triumph at Dodge City Raceway Park in Dodge City, Kan. All were first-time wins at each track for Williamson.
“The Sprint Invaders win stands out to me the most,” he said. “It was me and a tire guy. We had struggled all year, getting close without sealing the deal. To do it by ourselves and put a complete night together was a huge weight off the shoulders. Everything fell into place.”
Williamson also enjoyed career-best runs during the 360 Knoxville Nationals (14th) as well as the Short Track Nationals (10th) and he tied his career-best outing during the Jesse Hockett/Daniel McMillin Memorial (sixth).
Additionally, the team found success during limited 410ci winged sprint car starts. Williamson tied his career-best result in the division with a second-place showing. He also made a pair of World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series dashes, including during his debut at the World of Outlaws World Finals. Williamson captured his career-best World of Outlaws result in April when he hustled from 24th to 14th at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Mo.
“I think the Outlaws dashes were big for our team,” he said. “At the beginning of the year we were horrible running with the Outlaws. We weren’t making it out of the heat races. Other than our run at I-55 it was a struggle. From that to making dashes at the end of the year it was a huge step forward. Learning throughout the year and putting it together was huge.
“I’m excited to build on this year. Thank you to our partners, Bryant and his family, and everyone who has helped with the team. I can’t wait for 2023.”
