VINCENTOWN, N.J. (November 1, 2022) - Despite capping the 2022 season earlier than expected, forced to end his campaign as the result of a bruised lung which appeared following an incident during Williams Grove Speedway’s annual National Open on Saturday, October 22, Vincentown, New Jersey’s Justin Whittall will head into the off-season with a full head of steam, aiming to continue a trend of success that was highlighted with a recent victory at the Port Royal Speedway “Speed Palace.”
Whittall, ace of his family owned and operated JW Motorsports, JG Kronenberger Fine Jewelry, Mid-Atlantic Transport, Pioneer Auto Body, Worldwide Bearings, Enterprise, No. 67 sprint car, earned his first-ever Port Royal triumph on Friday, October 14. A $6,000 score in the track’s final 410 sprint car event, Whittall’s accomplishment was on the tail end of a long stretch of premium performances, one of which a fourth-place outcome during World of Outlaws competition at Port Royal Speedway on Friday, October 7. The near-podium result, his best-ever against the Greatest Show On Dirt, helped the Pennsylvania Posse sweep the top four spots in the final A-Main rundown.
Additionally, Whittall finished fourth during Port Royal’s $60,000-to-win Tuscarora 50 featuring the All Star Circuit of Champions on Saturday, September 10, and just like his World of Outlaws accomplishment, the near-podium result was a best-ever against the Series. Impressive enough, in just eight feature starts with the traveling All Stars in 2022, Whittall finished within the top-ten on five occasions.
Justin Whittall’s Port Royal Speedway victory bumps his Pennsylvania Posse win tally to two, acquiring his first during a start at the world-famous Williams Grove Speedway on June 4, 2021.
“It’s been an incredible season, especially the second half of the year. I wouldn’t have been able to accomplish what I did without my family, my team, and of course, our dedicated partners. We have a slight disadvantage making the commute from New Jersey on a weekly basis to compete in Central Pennsylvania, but we do it for a reason, and it’s beginning to pay off,” said Justin Whittall. “We wanted to have the opportunity to race at Bridgeport this past weekend, but things just didn't work out in our favor. We decided it was better for me to relax and heal, and head into the off-season with momentum.
“I’m excited to see what the future holds for this team. We’ve proven to ourselves that we can compete with anyone…now we just have to build on that.”
