Landon Britt brought his rookie campaign with the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series (ASCS) to a close over the weekend with the Fuzzy's Fall Fling at Creek County Speedway (Sapulpa, Okla.).
On Friday night Britt was one of 35 entries on hand at the tricky, 1/4-mile bullring as he entered the finale weekend aboard the Shophouse Racing No. 17 Sprinter. He qualified sixth fastest in his group before seeing the balance of the program washed away by persistent rains that arrived during opening ceremonies. Officials made the decision to cancel the night's program.
On Saturday evening the final round of the weekend and the 2022 ASCS season came to life at the Oklahoma oval.
For the second-straight night Britt qualified sixth fastest in his group. He slipped two spots in his heat race to finish eighth, which relegated him to a B-Main.
Landon picked up a couple of spots in the B-Main to finish sixth, but with only the Top-3 finishers moving onto the feature he was forced to utilize a provisional to start the 30-lap finale.
Starting 23rd on the feature grid, Britt advanced to as high as the ninth position before ultimately crossing the finish line in 15th.
Landon finished third in the final Brodix Rookie of the Year standings and seventh in the overall Lucas Oil ASCS points.
