BAPS Moves Sprint Car Event to "The Night Before"

YORK HAVEN, Pa.: A shift on the schedule will lead to more posted money for 410 Sprint Car drivers in October at BAPS Motor Speedway.

On the heels of the Williams Grove National Open being postponed last weekend and moved to October 22, the management team of Kolten Gouse and Scott Gobrecht made the decision to alter the schedule to accommodate the storied event.

Gouse and Gobrecht have moved the regularly scheduled 410 Sprint, Limited Late Model, and Extreme Stock triple-header on October 22 to one day earlier. The newly branded “The Night Before” presented by Denk Electric and Pleasantville Construction will take place on Friday, October 21 and is the perfect lead-in to the National Open.

The purse for the 410 Sprints now features a $6,000 payday to the winner, courtesy of the speedway and www.SprintCarUnlimited.TV. The Creekside Auto Sales Late Models will hold their final point race of the season, and the Superior Homes Extreme Stocks will have a feature-only program. Hot laps are 6:45 p.m. with heat races taking place at 7:30.

“We understand the importance of the National Open to the central Pennsylvania region,” Gouse said. “Moving to Friday also gives some traveling teams an opportunity to run two races instead of one that weekend.

“Anytime you can give a little extra money to teams, that’s a positive. We have to thank our sponsors for stepping up and making this a bigger event on a weekend that will draw attention from around the country.”

The regularly scheduled Extreme Stock Invitational has been taken off the schedule because of the date change. General admission is $25 for adults, $20 for seniors, and $15 for students. Kids 12-under are free. Pit passes are $35.
