The Bumper To Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprints haven't hit the highbanks of the Beaver Dam Raceway since their first event of the season back in April, but this coming Saturday night, Sept 17th, the thunder returns. Over the years there have been many races at Beaver Dam Raceway that have carried a lot of meaning, and this Saturday's Scott Semmelman Memorial certainly does. Not only is this event a tribute, but the IRA point race has been epic and only a trio of races remain on the 2022 schedule. 2-time and defending IRA champion Jake Blackhurst and his Rhine Auto #39 hold a slim 13 point margin over the Rockstar #65 of Jordan Goldesberry, while Jake Neuman and Danny Schlafer remain within striking distance, and past 2-time champ and perennial IRA points runner Scotty Neitzel sits a strong 5th. There are several other great battles within the top ten. Joining the IRA Outlaws Saturday at Beaver Dam will be Sport Mods and Legends with the driver's meeting scheduled for 5:00.
The IRA season concludes with a doubleheader next weekend, Sept 23-24. Friday at the Dodge County Fairgrounds pays tribute a pair of Wisconsin racing legends Fuzzy Fassbender and Rick Schmidt, while Saturday is the annual Wisconsin State Sprint Car Championships. Joining the headlining Bumper To Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprints will be the both the MSA 360 Sprints, and the AutoMeter Wisconsin wingLESS Sprints at both events, while the IRA Lightning Sprints join the fun Saturday too. It's championship weekend for all four classes with champions to be crowned at Plymouth Saturday. All events will appear on FloSportsTV.
