Inside Line Promotions – ELMA, Wash. (Sept. 7, 2022) – Robbie Price tied his career-best World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series result behind the wheel of the Sides Motorsports No. 7s last Saturday.
Price posted a fifth-place performance at Skagit Speedway in Alger, Wash., during the final night of the three-race Sage Fruit Skagit Nationals.
“The weekend wasn’t bad,” he said. “The first couple of nights were okay and the last night in Elma wasn’t great, but there was one really good night. The track wasn’t the way it’s ever been at Skagit. It’s definitely different. I think there’s potential to be there though.”
Price qualified fifth quickest before a runner-up outing in a heat race advanced him into the dash. He gained two positions in the race to finish sixth, giving him the sixth starting spot in the A Main.
“The last night at Skagit we drew well and qualified good and made the dash,” he said. “The way it was all weekend if you qualified decent then it made the night a lot easier. In the feature I got to fifth right away and we were decent. We got to traffic and I thought I might have had something for fourth. I moved around a bit and I don’t know if it hurt or helped, but another top five was great.”
Price kicked off the weekend on Thursday when he timed in 16th quickest before picking up a position to finish third in a heat race and 11th in the A Main. Friday’s action featured Price qualifying 19th quickest and placing fifth in a heat race to lock into the feature. He capped the night by hustling from 19th to 12th – tied for the second-most positions gained.
The holiday weekend concluded on Monday at Grays Harbor Raceway, where Price qualified sixth quickest before ending sixth in a heat race and 21st in the feature following involvement in an early crash.
“We qualified good, but we struggled in the heat race and that kind messed up our whole night,” he said. “It was cool to see everybody at home last weekend. That was fun.”
The team plans to race this Friday and Saturday at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, Calif., during the Gold Cup Race of Champions with the World of Outlaws.
