Inside Line Promotions – PUYALLUP, Wash. (Aug. 24, 2022) – Trey Starks is aiming to reach new heights this Saturday when he goes for his 12th victory of the season.

Starks tied his career-best mark of 11 wins in a single season during his most recent race, which was his third straight victory at Skagit Speedway in Alger, Wash. He returns to the high-banked oval this Saturday.

“We’ve had a couple of weeks off so everybody is fresh,” he said. “We’re looking to do what we’ve been doing in a 360 at Skagit. It starts off by qualifying well, which puts you in a good position to make the dash. That puts you in a position to start up front in the feature. Hopefully it all works well and we can contend for another win. Also, we want to get more laps on the track at Skagit before the Outlaws show up.”

If Starks is able to win on Saturday it would not only be his record 12th triumph of the season, but also his fourth in a row – a new career-best record. Starks’ current three-race winning streak is tied for his best after producing a three-race streak – twice – during the 2016 season.

Following Saturday’s event will be a busy weekend when Starks plans to race five straight nights, including four World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series races. He will compete during the Sage Fruit Skagit Nationals at Skagit Speedway Sept. 1-3 before heading to Grays Harbor Raceway in Elma, Wash., for a 360ci sprint car show on Sept. 4 followed by a World of Outlaws race on Sept. 5.

“There’s still a few things with the 410 that I think we need to tighten up,” he said. “I think we’ll try a couple of things this weekend to see which direction it makes the car react with something we might apply to the 410. We’re solid in the 410, but we still have a little on the table. We know we’ll have to keep improving because the Outlaws definitely will. By the third night on the same track any edge we’d have as a local would be gone. They don’t take long to adapt so we’ll have to do the same.”
