Quad Cities 150 marks the return of midget racing at Davenport Speedway

(DAVENPORT, Iowa)- Something new this year at the Quad Cities 150 will also be turning back a page in history. The Xtreme Outlaw Midget Series will race August 26th & 27th, at the Davenport Speedway.

2022 is the inaugural season for the Xtreme Outlaw Midget Series. This will mark the first midget race at Davenport Speedway in fifteen years.

Davenport was once a haven for the mighty midgets. Following World War II, midgets were the weekly class here and at many other racetracks. It was not until the 1950's that stock cars became the dominant racing class.

Davenport was also once the hometown of the "King of the Midgets", Mel Kenyon. At the time, Kenyon and his family lived just a few blocks from the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds track.

The Quad Cities 150 is presented by Hoker Trucking LLC. The three-day event features the World of Outlaws CASE Construction Equipment Late Models racing all three nights. Saturday's finale will pay $30,000-to-win. On Thursday, August 25th, the support class will be IMCA Modifieds.

Activities are planned for each day of the event. A truck show, racing simulator, live music, and a Toys for Tots charity drive, will be held every day. Saturday’s agenda includes a Cruise-In Car Show, a bags tournament, and an autograph session with both Late Model and Midget drivers.

Advance grandstand tickets for the Quad Cities 150, are available through the World of Outlaws website.
