Cole Vanderheiden returned to the driver's seat on Saturday night at Eagle (Neb.) Raceway, where 20 entries registered for competition.
Slipping from the fourth-starting spot to a sixth-place finish in his heat race, resulted in Cole lining up 17th for the feature.
On a tricky surface and in a green-white-checkered race, he was only able to manage a 16th-place finish in the finale.
On Monday the team made their debut at Southern (Oskaloosa) Iowa Speedway during the IMCA Race Saver portion of the 27th annual Sage Fruit Front Row Challenge.
On the sprawling 1/2-mile oval, Cole advanced from the seventh-starting spot to a fourth-place finish. Via his strong heat race performance he earned the sixth-starting spot for the 20-lap finale.
Racing in the Top 5 for much of the event, Vanderheiden lost two spots on a late-race restart to finish seventh.
