JONESTOWN, Pa. (August 1, 2022) - It was an all-out weekend in the Empire State for Brock Zearfoss and Brock Zearfoss Racing, and although the team missed the top-five on Saturday, finishing 14th after lining up 19th on the A-Main grid, Zearfoss’ two-day stay at Weedsport Speedway in Weedsport, New York, capped with a bang, concluding Sunday’s program fourth in the running order after an outstanding preliminary effort.
Zearfoss, ace of the Brock Zearfoss Racing, Moose’s LZ Bar & Grill, Heavy Equipment, Loaders & Parts Inc., C&D Rigging Inc., Klick Lewis Cars, J.P. Adamsky Trucking, No. 3Z sprint car, started second on Sunday’s A-Main grid and kept pace with eventual winner, Donny Schatz, for much of the 30-lapper, that until David Gravel made a move around the “Jonestown Jet'' with ten circuits remaining. Logan Schuchart would sneak by Zearfoss just a few laps later.
As noted, Zearfoss kicked-off Sunday night’s preliminary program with the third-fastest qualifying time, racing on to earn a dash spot by finishing second in his respective heat race.
“It feels good to be right there. I knew it was going to be tough to get by Donny in the slick, but we were able to maintain speed and keep ourselves in the hunt all 30 laps and that feels really good,” Zearfoss said, who now owns three top-five finishes this season. “Hats off to my team and all of my supporters. It’s been an up and down year, the ups are certainly becoming more frequent.”
