Inside Line Promotions – IMPERIAL, Pa. (July 26, 2022) – Joey Amantea scored his first career top-10 result during a 410ci non-wing sprint car event last Friday at Lernerville Speedway.

Amantea timed in seventh quickest in his group before he finished seventh in a heat race during his debut at the high-banked oval in Sarver, Pa. That lined him up on the inside of the 10th row for his first-ever Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series feature.

“We had the car rolling,” he said. “I just found my rhythm and kept picking up positions. I was able to drive around people. We were able to run anywhere on the track and make up ground. I think we had top-five speed so I was super pumped how that ended.”

Amantea’s charge from 19th to 10th was tied for the most cars passed.

He also joined the BOSS Series on Saturday at Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway, where he qualified second quickest. Amantea placed fourth in a heat race to garner the eighth starting position in the A Main.

“We were very fast all night,” he said. “The way the track was it was narrow and hard to pass, but I was happy with our speed. We got up to fifth and then unfortunately blew a tire with two laps to go.”

Amantea was credited with a 12th-place result.

“I thought it was an extremely successful weekend,” he said. “We were very fast both nights. I felt the most comfortable I’ve been in the 410 so far and was really happy that we showed speed against professional 410 wingless drivers.”

Amantea also highlighted a couple of starts during Hyper Racing 600 Speedweek with a heat race win and a fifth-place finish in the feature a week ago Tuesday at Spirit Auto Center Speedway in Swedesboro, N.J.

He plans on returning to micro sprint action this Wednesday at Action Track USA in Kutztown, Pa., and Friday at Spirit Auto Center Speedway.
