Landon Britt officially kicked off the 2022 Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series (ASCS) Speedweek on Friday night at Batesville Motor Speedway (Locust Grove, Ark.).
Twenty-five Sprint Cars entered the program, and Britt finished sixth in his heat race to lock into the 17th-starting spot for the feature. He advanced one spot to finish 16th at the checkered flag.
On Saturday the action shifted south to Tracey Clay's I-30 Speedway (Little Rock, Ark.) for the second round of the Lucas Oil ASCS Speedweek. Thirty-two Sprinters were on hand to take a shot at taming the 1/4-mile oval.
While his outing started on a high note, the night's action would ultimately prove to be a challenging one for Landon. After setting fourth fast time in his group, he earned the pole position for his heat race. Unfortunately in the heat, he slid back to a seventh-place finish and then failed to transfer to the feature in his B-Main.
He utilized a series provisional to start the 25-lap feature in the 23rd position but would retire on the second lap to a 24th-place finish.
