Inside Line Promotions – SWEET SPRINGS, Mo. (July 18, 2022) – Garet Williamson highlighted a busy weekend by capturing a fourth-place finish last Friday during a Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour event at U.S. 36 Raceway.

The Bryant Paver Motorsports pilot qualified third quickest in his group and placed third in a heat race before he hustled from 10th to fourth in the A Main at the high-banked oval near Osborn, Mo.

“The top was treacherous all the way around,” he said. “The goal was to get to the lead and go to the bottom to protect. We were right there, up to second, and I made one mistake and got into the wall, which got me off the track on the backstretch. We’ve been really fast at that track and it’s a place that has slipped away from us a couple of times.”

Williamson remains fourth in the ASCS National Tour championship standings, but he closed the gap to third place to one point and is now only 43 points out of the lead.

The team kicked off the weekend on Thursday at Bloomfield Speedway in Bloomfield, Iowa, during a Sprint Invaders show. A run from third to win a heat race advanced Williamson into the dash. He placed fourth to garner the outside second row starting spot in the main event.

“We were really good all night,” he said. “We were battling for the lead and I made a mistake. We were throwing sliders back and forth. I got over the cushion wrong and it tore up our car.”

Williamson was credited with a 19th-place result. He wrapped up the weekend on Sunday when he drove a midget for Dan Minear at Sweet Springs Motorsports Complex with the Lucas Oil POWRi National Midget League. Williamson placed fourth in a heat race and 15th in the feature.

“It’s fun to go out with no pressure and get to drive Dan’s car,” he said. “We got to learn and I feel like we get better every night we get to race together.”

The Sizzlin’ Summer Speedweek is on deck for Williamson and Bryant Paver Motorsports with the first weekend featuring races this Thursday at Tulsa Speedway in Tulsa, Okla.; Friday at Batesville Motor Speedway in Batesville, Ark.; and Saturday at I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Ark.

“Hopefully we have good tracks,” Williamson said. “I feel like we can go anywhere and be fast and be competitive. I’d like to pick up a win during Speedweek. I think that’s a good goal for us. We’ve been really fast. The bigger picture is being consistent all week. If we can do that we’ll put ourselves in position to win.”
