Wentworth, NH - Friday night at the Legion Speedway it was another great night of racing. With a small field of cars in most divisions, they racing was nothing but great dirt track racing. With four divisions racing this evening the Late Model feature saw Kelly Miller from Duxbury ,VT take the win over Rob French and Matt Lashua. In the Modified feature it was Maverick Eldridge picking up his first ever career win holding off Todd Buckwold and Alan Hammond. It was good to see Maverick get that first ever win here at Legion Speedway. in the Pro 4 division it was another first time winner with Wayne Pillsbury Sr taking down the win followed by Josh Ruel and Wayne Pillsbury Jr. Pillsbury Sr, said he owes it all to his son who builds and maintains everything. In the Non Wing Sprint Car feature it was Nick Comeau again winning his fourth of the year. Comeau had to work for this one. The race for second was a great side by side battle for the last two laps with Wade Prentice just edging out Donald Ottati at the line by just a couple inches.
Overall the racing was good in all divisions. In the second sprint car heat race the 77 of Ron Davis Jr lost his left front wheel after hitting the inside berm in turn two. He never lifted and held the lead for two laps until Adam Trott spun in turn two bringing out the yellow, Davis had to retire with just two laps left. In Victory lane for the Late Models while interviewing Matt Lashua , he was asked if the fans wanted would he run the LM in the Modified feature and see what he could do. The crowd was in favor so Lashua got to get 20 more laps in his LM. The 316 never lost any ground and held his own. Something different something fun, that's what it is about at Legion Speedway as we learn how to become dirt track operators. The track gave away two $50 gas cards to some lucky fans during the 50/50 raffle, and also made another young girl happy with a brand new bicycle. The crowd in the grandstands has been getting better each week and we thank you all for your kind comments and ideas for keeping Legion Speedway open for fun affordable racing for all.
We are not racing this Friday night at Legion Speedway but if your looking for some great 360 winged sprint car action, then head out to New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon , NH where the Sprint Cars of New England will be racing at The Dirt Duels Presented by New England Race Fuels on the 1/4 mile dirt track. The Flat Track @NHMS right behind the New England Racing Museum at the south gate on Rt 106.
