We recently had an unprecedented rain out, and upon further review, it has been determined that we awarded the wrong amount of points to our drivers. We have consulted with USAC and our officials. MWRA has implemented the following rules regarding rain outs and points based on the decision. We have also updated our loyalty clause to include social media posts. While we understand that people may share their opinions online, we ask that we be given a chance to resolve a concern prior to going to social media. Our goal is to maintain the integrity of our series and add to the betterment of racing not detract from it.
We understand that some teams may or may not agree with this decision, but we have looked at it from every aspect and this is how USAC and MWRA officials have deemed the fairest. Just for clarification purposes, MWRA is a regional series and does not operate or share the exact same rules as USAC National series’. MWRA will NOT tolerate any bullying, harassment, or threatening of any kind or we will enforce necessary repercussions. In order to not have any further questions or concerns regarding cancellations/rain outs, Please read below the implemented rules and they will be updated on our website as soon as possible.
Incomplete, canceled and/or altered Midwest Wingless Racing Association points events:
If an event is canceled and the program has begun but heat races are not completed all licensed drivers and car entrants will receive 30 points.
If an event occurs where the feature is cancelled/rained out after ALL licensed drivers and car entrants have completed their heat races car entrants will receive 50 points.
If the feature line-up has been posted or less than 50% of the feature has been completed, cars that qualified for
the feature will receive 50 points. All others that didn’t qualify for the feature will receive 30 points.
Loyalty Clause - USAC Midwest Wingless Association may, at its discretion, award incentives by race, point standings or achievements throughout the annual racing season. These incentives are often tied to incentives for the growth of the series and driven from various sponsorships. Incentives are often associated with loyalty to the racing series, such as attendance.
A. MWRA reserves the right to withdraw incentives from any car owner or driver for any length of time, due to detrimental to the sport, series, or violating the loyalty clause. Negative comments, either in interviews or on social media. The incentive teams are viewed as the standard in racing and will be held to higher expectations.
B. USAC Midwest Wingless Racing Association logo must be placed on visible sections on right and left side to quality for the championship points funds.
C. Race teams (drivers, owners, and crew) must represent USAC Midwest Wingless Racing Association in a professional manner at all times.
Season points will be adjusted as we work with USAC to get them updated. Please understand this may take a while due to USAC National events this weekend. As always, everyone with MWRA appreciates your loyalty and support. See you at a racetrack soon!! ??
