Inside Line Promotions – NEW RICHMOND, Wis. (July 4, 2022) – Robbie Price earned a career-best World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series result last Saturday during the Independence Day Spectacular.
The Sides Motorsports driver qualified 10th quickest at Cedar Lake Speedway before he finished where he started – fourth – in a heat race. That lined him up on the outside of the fifth row for the A Main.
“We drew early and qualified early, which helped,” Price said. “I felt like I could have ran third in the heat race. In the main event I felt pretty good for the first 10 or 15 laps. Then it seemed every move I made was the wrong one. I’d go low and get passed on the top. I’d go to the top and get passed on the bottom. I just needed to find where I needed to be on the track. I got balled up and tight on a couple of restarts and that really hurt. The last restart I felt decent again and we passed some cars. It was one of those deals we have to put a whole main event together, but we’re chipping away at it.”
Price’s 11th-place outing was also the best run of the season for Sides Motorsports.
The weekend began on Friday at Cedar Lake Speedway, where Price qualified 22nd quickest. He advanced a position in a heat race to finish seventh before overcoming an incident in the Last Chance Showdown that resulted in him spun around. Price rallied from the back to finish sixth in the consolation race, earning a transfer into the rear of the main event. He capped the night by picking up four positions in the feature to finish 20th.
“We buried ourselves a bit and had to run the B Main,” he said. “I got spun around and had to start dead last in the feature instead of a couple of rows further up. Then I got a flat right rear later in the race.”
The team will head to 34 Raceway in West Burlington, Iowa, this Friday and to Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, Wis., for the Badger 40 on Saturday.
“I think I’ve ran three or four 360 races at 34 Raceway,” he said. “I remember I ran fourth there with the ASCS National Tour in 2019. I know how it races and it’s more of a short track, which is what I’m used to. We’ll try to qualify good both nights and set ourselves up for success.”
