Tire Shortage Strikes Again: Rocket and Jackson Cancelled Due To Lack Of Inventory

DRUMRIGHT, Okla. (July 1, 2022) The American Sprint Car Series has been informed that tires will not be available for July 8 and 9 shows at Rocket Raceway Park and Jackson Motor Speedway. Having exhausted all avenues of trying to find some inventory, unfortunately, the absence of tires has forced officials to cancel the events.

Neither event will be will not be made up this season, but shows are already in the works for the 2023 season At Rocket Raceway Park. The Capital City Clash at Jackson Motor Speedway has already been scheduled for Friday, March 31, 2023, and Saturday, April 1, 2023, with the Saturday show getting a boost to $15,000 to win.

“I’m frustrated, to say the least. I know the teams are frustrated because they've been running on little to no inventory or using any halfway decent tire they can find left in their shop. I’m tired of losing races because we can’t get tires. This is four races this year directly canceled because we cannot get tires,” stated ASCS owner, Terry Mattox.

“We make our living racing, and we have enough challenges without having to this over our head, but it’s not just us, and it’s not just Hoosier. Everyone is struggling. but the last I was told is we should have tires before we head to U.S. 36 Raceway on July 15.”

Further updates will be posted as information becomes available.
