“KWS Tonight” will present a fully loaded show this Thursday evening, showcasing interviews with young rising star Rico Abreu, Cancen Oil KWS Series presented by Goodyear rookie driver Chad Compton and more.

To view the show log onto http://www.kwssprints.com starting at 7pm pst on Thursday. It will then replay on the homepage to watch at your leisurely pleasure over the next week. You can also see the show directly on the “KWS Tonight” Vimeo page at http://vimeo.com/user10076991

We’ll be putting a wrap on the “Chris & Brian Faria Memorial” finale from May 12, giving everyone a rundown of the night’s happenings and sharing highlights from the event. Our guest Rico Abreu will talk about his first KWS win that night and how excited he is to fly home for Calistoga on Sunday, after running the “Night before the 500” at Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis in Indiana on Saturday.

With six races complete so far this season Chad Compton currently ranks ninth in the KWS Series standings and is the leading contender for “Rookie of the Year” as we head into the Calistoga Speedway. Compton will discuss how the season has gone for him up to this point and what he hopes to accomplish as the campaign goes on.

We will of course delve deeper into this weekend’s double-header at the famed Calistoga Speedway half-mile. We’ll spend some time talking about the all-time winners of the “Salute to Walt Ross” & the “Tribute to Gary Patterson” which is packed full of top name drivers from all around. There are always a number of special things on tap at Calistoga and we’ll talk about them all as well.

Please be advised of the earlier start time for both nights of racing at Calistoga Speedway. On Saturday & Sunday May 26 & 27 the front grandstand gate will open at 4pm, with cars hitting the track for wheel packing at 4:30, qualifying around 5:30 and racing scheduled to begin around 6. Adult tickets will be $20 each night, with all kids 12 and under being free, as part of the Calistoga Speedway “75th anniversary Special.”

A number of big races are also coming up after Calistoga, so we’ll preview the “Pombo/Sargent Classic” at Kings Speedway on June 2, along with the “Road to Dirt Cup” events at Silver Dollar Speedway on Friday June 8 and Southern Oregon Speedway on Saturday June 9. Starting at Kings Speedway we’ll have some international Kiwi flair, which we’ll share with everyone.

For the Chico and Medford events there will also be a pair of special guest stars in action, including National Sprint Car Hall of Famer Jimmy Sills and reigning ASCS National champion Shane Stewart. Sills will climb aboard the DES Racing No. 4s machine and Stewart will be in the familiar Paul Silva Racing No. 57 sprinter.

In addition to all of that we will talk more about the big championship banquet weekend that will be held at the Jackson Rancheria Casino Resort on November 9, 10 and 11. Friday will include a fan appreciation/ press night; Saturday will feature a car show and the “Kings Banquet” to cap the evening, with Sunday being the annual business meeting.
