Inside Line Promotions – BRANDON, S.D. (June 16, 2022) – Jack Dover was on pace to earn his best result of the season at Huset’s Speedway last Sunday when disaster struck.

The promising night began with Dover qualifying seventh quickest in the Chris and Rick Bowers’ No. 81 sprint car. A second-place outing in a heat race advanced Dover into the feature redraw, where he pulled the No. 7 to start the feature on the inside of the fourth row.

“In time trails we weren’t great, but not bad,” he said. “Then in the heat race we were the third fastest car out of all the heat races so that was promising. If you can get in the feature redraw and be starting in the first four rows it makes my job a lot easier.”

Dover quickly maneuvered into third place on the opening lap of the A Main by using the bottom of the track. He maintained that position until capturing second place just after the midpoint of the race. Unfortunately, an incident with six laps remaining dropped Dover to the rear of the field.

“On the initial start we did a big wheel stand and luckily a yellow came out so I could get a better restart,” he said. “On the second start everybody went into turn one and washed up the track. I stuck the bottom really nice and was up to third in the first half of a lap. We rode around in third for a while and then slid Riley Goodno for second around Lap 15.

“We were really good. The whole feature we were on the free side and got up behind a lapped car. It took the air off my wing. When it did that it sent me spinning and unfortunately I collected Justin Henderson. I was able to push off again and we were credited with finishing 12th.”

A trio of Buffalo Wild Wings Northern Outlaw Sprint Association races fill the schedule this weekend with The Border Battle running Friday and Saturday at Jackson Motorplex in Jackson, Minn., and Sunday at Huset’s Speedway.

“This weekend my goal is to get top fives,” he said. “We made the Jackson Nationals last year with the World of Outlaws so I know we can run pretty well at Jackson Motorplex. And we’ve had good speed at Huset’s Speedway this year.”
