Inside Line Promotions – ELDON, Mo. (June 13, 2022) – Garet Williamson recorded his 10th top-five performance of the season last Saturday during a POWRi 410 Outlaw Sprint League event at Lake Ozark Speedway.
Williamson guided the Bryant Paver Motorsports No. 24 to the fifth quickest qualifying time before finishing third in a heat race during the first half of the program.
“It was a good night for us in a 410,” he said. “We would have liked to be a little better, but we haven’t been the best in 410 qualifying so it wasn’t bad. Then in the heat race we were just as fast as the two leaders.”
Williamson lined up on the outside of the third row for the main event.
“I think we came out of turn two in third and someone spun out so we had a complete restart,” he said. “We didn’t get the restart we needed the second time and had to pick our way forward. The track was fast around the top and hard to do anything. It was so slick that when you’d get a run on someone and pull down for a slider you’d just spin your tires and lose momentum.”
Williamson gained a position to place fifth.
The team returns to Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour competition this Friday at Texarkana 67 Speedway in Texarkana, Ark., and Saturday at Boothill Speedway in Greenwood, La. It will be Williamson’s debut at both tracks.
“I think our goal is top three each night and we need to get a win soon,” he said. “Hopefully we can have a decent track both nights and can battle up front. Our team is good enough and we’re working hard to get our first ASCS National Tour victory this year.”
