Comeau Sweeps the Night

Wentworth, NH - Friday night was the first night of weekly division racing here at Legion Speedway. The car count is a little less than we had hoped for, but it helps us learn how to run an efficient show and keep the show moving. The race fans and the race teams have been very positive about what is going on with the facility. The one thing that did not seem to change much from last season is Nick Comeau winning races in his family owned 03 Non Wing Sprint Car. Comeau won the first 20 lap feature held over from the 6/3 rain out , over Wade Prentice and Mark Cole. The drivers seemed happy with track conditions and plenty of side by side racing and passing. Prentice and Cole were battling many laps for that position. In the second 20 lap feature it was Donald Ottati out front for the first five laps while Nick Comeau worked his way to the lead on lap 6 and never looked back. Wade Prentice had a good night with another 2nd place followed by Ottati in third. In the Rookie Sprint Cars it was Jason Potter followed by Don Mason and Jeremiah Sargent in third. The Pro 4 division was won by Jason Darling followed by last weeks winner David Bill and Wayne Pillsbury Sr. in third. Pillsbury was happy to get his first ever racing trophy, and we are happy it comes from Legion Speedway. Congratulations to all drivers on having a good safe night of racing. Unfortunately there was not enough Late Models to run the division. Thank you goes out to the Late Model guys who showed up to support the track. But they understood and are the type of race teams we want to join us at Legion Speedway.
The grandstand crowd was a good turn out for just our second week, and many area schools having graduations and such. But the fans that showed up looked to be enjoying the on track action and having some fun and meeting new friends. The kids in attendance were also enjoying it especially Trinity Shinn after being the nights bicycle giveaway winner, trinity was seen riding her new bike around the facility.

Legion Speedway is always looking for some local businesses and others to sponsor a night of racing and happy to support and promote your business. Tell your friends and your employers to join us for a fun affordable night of dirt track racing. Grow with us

Hope to see you all back next week as we bring the Modified division back to try their luck , also we will try the Late Models again along with Non Wing Sprints, Rookie Sprints, and Pro 4's

Be kind and enjoy your week
