Britt Battles Through Challenging Memorial Day Weekend

On Saturday evening Landon Britt resumed action with the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series (ASCS) presented by MAVTV. The team was eager to return to action, but it would prove to be a tough weekend.

Thirty-two entries took to the 1/3-mile oval, and after qualifying sixth fastest in his group, Britt was battling three wide for position in his heat race, when contact from another competitor caused him to flip down the front stretch.

He was uninjured but his car was heavily damaged. The team was unable to complete repairs in time for the B-Main, so they took a provisional for the 25-lap feature. Landon started 24th and made a few laps with a still damaged racecar before retiring to a 22nd-place finish.

On Sunday evening the action shifted south to Thunderbird Speedway (Muskogee, Okla.) where 24 registered for competition. For the second-straight night Britt qualified sixth fastest in his group. A fifth-place finish in his heat race pinned him 13th on the feature starting grid, but damage received after the checkered flag in the heat race hampered him for the main event.

As a result, he retired early in the feature to a 22nd-place finish.
