Dominic Scelzi Kicks Off NARC Fastest 4 Days In Motorsports At SOS With A Win; Salyer Also Scores A Victory
White City, Oregon- Southern Oregon Speedway hosted a rare mid-week bout on Thursday, May 26th. The Jackson County Sports Complex racetrack hosted the NARC Fujitsu General Racing Series 410 Sprint Cars and the Super 4’s. It was the first of four straight nights of racing for the Sprint Cars as they embarked on their Fastest 4 Days In Motorsports tour.

Hanford, California’s Mitchell Faccinto, grabbed the initial race lead in the Tom and Tommy Tarlton owned entry. Mitchell was very quick and managed restarts flawlessly without any sort of issues. Tragedy would strike when he would get into the backstretch wall resulting in a flat right rear tire.

Fresno, California’s Dominic Scelzi, would inherit the lead. Scelzi held on to P1 despite two additional stoppages. It marked his first win at Southern Oregon Speedway and his fourth consecutive with the tour.

Aromas, California’s Justin Sanders, in the Mittry Family fielded mount, was the runner-up while Willie Croft, now calling Colfax, California home, got third. Campbell, California chauffeur Bud Kaeding and Colby Copeland, of Rocklin, California and driving the Larry Antaya owned entry were fourth and fifth.

The Super 4’s was also in competition as a companion division. Central Point’s Chris Salyer got out in front at the drop of the green flag. Salyer felt some heat from challengers at certain points of the race, but eventually, the pressure would decrease.

Chris Salyer would dominate the balance of the distance to win his first race of the year. Skipper Klimcheck and Charlie Eaton were second and third in the finishing order. John Barger, from Medford, hit the line fourth, and Shady Cove’s Anthony Bartell ended his evening fifth.

Southern Oregon Speedway returns to racing on Saturday, May 28th, for the Haudenschild Memorial. Classes on the card will include the IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sport Mods, and Super 4’s. For more information, check out www.southernoregonmotorsports.com.
