Inside Line Promotions – BRANDON, S.D. (May 25, 2022) – Jack Dover earned his second straight top-10 result at Huset’s Speedway on Sunday.
Dover guided the Chris and Rick Bowers’ owned race car from 18th to ninth, which garnered the Hard Charger Award for gaining the most positions.
“It was a great end after a tough start to the night,” he said. “We dug ourselves a hole early, but passed a lot of good cars in the feature to salvage a solid result.”
The night began with Dover qualifying 19th quickest. He then advanced from seventh to sixth place in a heat race.
“We didn’t qualify very well and that buried us in our heat race,” he said. “I pulled a wheelie and had to get off the gas exiting turn four during my first qualifying lap. Once I set the front end down it was all over the place and messed up my entrance into turn one so both of our qualifying laps didn’t go well. The track was still a bit narrow in the heats so passing was at a premium. We were able to gain one position. We knew we’d have our work cut out for us in the feature, but fortunately we made the right decisions with the setup and it all came together for a good run.”
Dover plans on competing this Friday at Rapid Speedway in Rock Rapids, Iowa, with the Midwest Sprint Touring Series before tackling a trio of races with the Buffalo Wild Wings Northern Outlaw Sprint Association on Saturday at Park Jefferson International Speedway in North Sioux City, S.D., and Sunday and Monday at Huset’s Speedway.
“I’m excited to head to Park Jefferson in the 410 this weekend,” he said. “We’ve had a lot of success there in the 360 so hopefully that translates to a strong outing this weekend. And I think we’ve made gains at Huset’s the last couple of weeks so I’m looking forward to back-to-back nights there this weekend.”
