Rusty Montagne and David Miller continued their white-hot starts at Park Jefferson International Speedway May 14.
Montagne’s T1 found itself taking the checkers of the Sport Mods class for the second time in the fledging 2022 season. To date, his PJIS resume has been nearly spotless, with the two victories added to a runner-up finish.
Miller’s hobby stock 34M has made itself just as familiar with the victory lane view. He was a winner for a second successive week.
Looking further into the results, the Nebraska Modified Lites event, part of the Rushmore Racing Series stop, saw Scott Naggatz’s northern trek up Interstate 29 prove profitable. He garnered his first 2022 victory by overtaking pole-sitter Taylor Pollock. Jeffrey Larson, out of Reading, Minn., and local favorite Elijah Zevenbergen from Ocheyedan, had fans on the edge of their seats during the J&J Fitting Stock Car A feature and Heat Two. Larson held off Zevenbergern in each case. Sioux City’s Cody Thompson aimed for another JZ Diesel Modified win. However, starting second, fellow Sioux Citian Chris Mills staved off Thompson’s shot for the front from the middle of the pack. Pole sitter Taylor Brown held his spot cleanly to win the Fox 620 Sport Compacts despite Kaytee Devrees trying to make a move from third.
Stockton Towing presents IMCA’s weekly points racing plus Midwest Classic stock car action Saturday, May 21. The JZ Diesel modifieds, Sport Mods, J&J Fitting Stock Cars, Q and Feather Again Hobby Stocks, and the Fox 620 KMNS Sport Compacts join the vintage total body stocks looking for victory lane. Gates open at 5 p.m. with hot laps at 6 p.m. Tickets can be purchased through https://www.parkjeff.com.
