Cole Vanderheiden made his much-anticipated debut in the IMCA Racesaver 305 c.i. Winged Sprint Car division on Saturday night at Eagle (Neb.) Raceway.
His rookie voyage behind the wheel of his No. 15v Sprinter began with him drawing a #96 at the pill draw. As a result, he started on the tail of his heat race. He advanced a couple of positions, which lined him up eighth on the starting grid for the B-Main.
Slipping two spots to a 10th-place finish in the B-Main, his night came to an early end, but overall Cole and his team were very pleased with their first night in the new division.
