Inside Line Promotions – MOUNT POCONO, Pa. (April 11, 2022) – Joey Amantea is preparing for a Rapid Tire USAC East Coast Sprint Cars Series doubleheader this week.

Amantea, who captured a sixth-place result during his season opener with the series, aims for his first top five of the season on Thursday at Bloomsburg Fairgrounds in Bloomsburg, Pa., before the action shifts to Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pa., on Friday.

“Judging off what me and my crew chief, Brian Zyck, have talked about we’re going with a completely different setup,” Amantea said. “He’s setting it up to suite my driving style. Plus, he’s had success at Bloomsburg and Williams Grove so I think we’ll be good.”

Amantea has one career start at both tracks, earning a top 15 during his debut at each dirt oval last season.

“We were good in hot laps at Bloomsburg, but the track was kind of tacky,” he said. “Then it got really slick and dusty for the feature. I couldn’t see two feet ahead of me at one point. But I enjoyed racing there. The track was neat and I’ve heard they have new clay so I’m looking forward to it.

“I remember having a rough day at Williams Grove. On the first lap of the heat race we got ran over. We had to start around 20th in the feature and got in a wreck on the first corner. We managed to get up to 13th after all of that. I’m super excited to go back because this time around I’ll have a lot more confidence in myself and my car. That helps you drive it a lot harder.”
