Howard Moore went into battle in the United Sprint Car Series (USCS) Speedweek event at Riverside International Speedway (West Memphis, Ark.) on Saturday evening.
On a cool evening, 32 Sprint Car drivers looked to tackle the 1/4-mile bullring.
Behind the wheel of the Rains Motorsports/ Mike's Pool Care No. 3 High-Performance Lubricants Sprint Car Moore advanced from fifth to third in his heat race, which locked him into the seventh-starting spot for the evening's feature.
Howard raced his way to a runner-up finish in the main event behind race winner, Cody Gardner.
USCS Speedweek action shifted to Old No. 1 Speedway on Sunday evening. A fifth-to-second performance in heat race action rewarded Howard with the third-starting spot for the 30-lap finale.
Howard charged to the top spot on lap 6 and then proceeded to dominate the rest of the event, lapping up to the sixth position. He was followed across the finish line by Carson Short, Dale Howard, Cody Gardner, and Jordon Mallett.
The victory was his second of the season.
The busy holiday weekend for Howard Moore and Rains Motorsports drew to a close on Monday evening at Tennessee's Lexington 104 Speedway. Twenty-four racers were on hand for the USCS Speedweek event, and Howard began his night bycharging from the seventh-starting spot to a runner-up finish.
Starting fourth on the feature grid Moore pursued leader Dale Howard late in the event. The Tennessee racer actually charged to the lead with six circuits remaining, but a red flag nullified the pass. He went on to cross the finish line in the second position behind race winner, Dale Howard, with Mark Smith, Terry Gray, and Jordon Mallett rounding out the Top-5 finishers.
