Howard Moore Competes in Hockett/McMillin Memorial

Howard Moore embarked on the first night of the 11th annual Jesse Hockett / Daniel McMillin Memorial on Thursday night at Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, Mo.).

A staggering 68 Sprint Cars entered the program, and Howard began his night by advancing from sixth-to-fourth in his heat race, which positioned him on the pole of a qualifier.

A win in the qualifier transferred him to the night's $3,000-to-win, prelim feature, where he started 11th. In the main event Howard passed eight cars to finish third behind Derek Hagar and Scott Bogucki.

Friday night found another $3,000-to-win program on tap and a fifth-place finish in his heat race resulted in Howard starting on the pole of a qualifier for the second-straight night, which he won.

Starting 15th in the feature he passed six cars to finish ninth.

On Saturday evening the $10,000-to-win finale was held for the three-day event, and via his perofrmances on the first two nights, Howard was locked into the third-starting spot for the feature. He raced in the Top 5 throughout the feature before finishing fifth behind J.J. Hickle, Roger Crockett, Scott Bogucki, and Blake Hahn.
