Howard Moore rolled into I-30 Speedway on Friday afternoon for the opening round of the Hammer Hill Showdown with the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series (ASCS) National Tour.
Forty-seven Sprinters crammed into the pits, and Howard started the night by setting fast time in his group. With the Top-4 competitors inverted in each heat race, he started fourth before advancing to a third-place finish.
Earning the ninth-starting spot for the feature, Howard went on to race to an eighth-place finish in the 25-lap affair.
Action continued on Saturday night with 49 drivers eyeing a victory at the 1/4-mile oval. Howard once again set fast time in his group before winning his heat race from the fourth-starting spot.
In the 30-lap finale, he started third on the grid and advanced to a runner-up finish behind Aaron Reutzel with Matt Covington, Blake Hahn, and Dale Howard completing the Top-5 finishers.
