Kaeding on Hot Streak Heading into Mini Gold Cup

Californian Tim Kaeding on a Roll Heading into Mini Gold Cup
(Chico, CA 3/20/12)…The Greatest Show on Dirt, the World of Outlaw Sprint Car Series, marches into Silver Dollar Speedway this Friday and Saturday night, March 23rd and 24th. The high octane, fire breathing, 410 cubic inch powered machines feature the top sprint car drivers in the world vying for the Mini Gold Cup crown. The fans love to see the World of Outlaws drivers versus the top California sprint car teams. So far the defending King of California and former two-time Silver Dollar Speedway track champion Tim Kaeding has gotten the best of the Outlaws.
Front gates are scheduled to open at 5 p.m. with qualifying beginning at approximately 6:40 p.m. both nights. Tickets can be purchased by visiting www.WorldofOutlaws.com/tickets or by calling (877) 395-8606. Pit gate will open at 2pm both days of the event. Camping is available at the fairgrounds for the weekend.
San Jose hot shoe Tim Kaeding is the first repeat main event winner during the World of Outlaws first six races. His wins have come at The Dirt Track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway (Mach 8) and Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare (March 16). Tim Kaeding is second on the all-times win list at Chico with 54 career wins. He is the most decorated winner during the past ten years at Silver Dollar Speedway. His personality and exciting driving style has made him a fan favorite at Chico for years. Kaeding enters the Mini Gold Cup with the confidence it takes to beat the Outlaws.
Other World of Outlaw winners in 2012 who will be in Chico this weekend includes Brownsburg, IN driver Joey Saldana, Elk River, MN Craig Dollansky and Minot, North Dakota’s Donny Schatz. All three of these drivers are previous winners at the Silver Dollar Speedway and should all be considered valuable options to end up in victory lane this weekend. Schatz is the current World of Outlaw point leader.
Other top entrants include Tony Stewart Racing driver Steve Kinser. The Bloomington, IN driver dubbed “The King of the Outlaws” has 24 career wins at Silver Dollar Speedway. Kasey Kahne Racing drivers include Saldana and Red Lion, PA driver Cody Darrah. Germantown, TN champion Sammy Swindell is also geared to win this weekend’s Mini Gold Cup. Swindell is just five points behind Schatz for the World of Outlaw point lead.
The Mini Gold Cup will also be one of the final World of Outlaw races in 2012 for two-time and defending point champion Jason Meyers. The Clovis, CA driver announced earlier this year that he would follow the first 14 shows with the World of Outlaws ending at Calistoga Speedway next weekend. Meyers will then pull off the tour and concentrate on being home more with his family and pursuing other business goals.
Local contenders who join Kaeding as forces to be reckoned with include Chico’s Jonathan Allard, Elk Grove’s Kyle Larson and Auburn’s Andy Forsberg.
