Ryan Timms returned to action on Friday afternoon at the Southern Illinois Center (Du Quoin, Ill.) aboard the Grady Chandler Racing No. 00 Midget for the sixth annual Shamrock Classic. After mechanical issues got him behind the eight-ball early, Timms recorded a fifth-place finish in his heat, relegating him into the B-Main. Locking in the Top 6, Ryan was an early exit with three laps remaining.
The following night, Ryan executed a last-lap pass over Dominic Gorden to capture the preliminary victory. Rolling off sixth for the $10,000-to-win Shamrock Classic, Timms ran as high as second but faded back to eighth when the checkered flag flew.
