Making his debut in the Tulsa Shootout, Ricky Thornton Jr. traveled to Tulsa Expo Raceway (Tulsa, Okla.) on Wednesday afternoon to compete in the Outlaw Winged Micros, Non Winged Micros, and the Outlaw Non Winged Micros ranks. After scoring a pair of heat wins in his Non Winged Micro and Outlaw Non Winged Micro, Thornton Jr. recorded a 10th-place finish in his Outlaw Winged Micro heat, sending him into qualifiers on Friday.
Failing to qualify out of his qualifying races, Ricky competed in a pair of B-Mains on Saturday but a seventh-place finish in his Outlaw Non Winged Micro and eighth in his Non Winged Micro ended his weekend early.
