CLEWISTON, Fla. - At the conclusion of twenty-five circuits around Hendry County Motorsports Park it was Davie Franek who found himself in victory lane in the opening round of the 5th Annual Winter Heat miniseries for the USCS Outlaw Thunder Tour.
The Wantage, New Jersey driver started on the pole of the main event alongside Jacob Dykstra from Port Colborne, Ontario. Dykstra was unable to take advantage of the multiple restarts in caution filled event which saw Franek lead wire-to-wire for the $1,500 victory.
Danny Smith, the reigning USCS Outlaw Thunder Tour Champion, charged from his fifth starting position to a podium finish behind Franek and Dykstra.
Terry Gray maintained his starting position of fourth, holding off a hard charging Mark Ruel Jr. who charged from twentieth on the grid to finish fifth.
The miniseries continues tomorrow night once again at Hendry County Motorsports Park before traveling to Needmore Speedway in Norman Park, Georgia on February 11th and 12th.
