Inside Line Promotions – MT. POCONO, Pa. (Feb. 4, 2022) – Joey Amantea is excited to take another next step forward in his career after landing veteran Brian Zyck as the crew chief for his family team.
“I’m thrilled to be working with Brian,” he said. “He’s a veteran of the sport and I think will add a lot to our team. With the 2022 season nearly upon us we’re working hard to be able to produce the results we know our team can accomplish.”
Zyck arrives with plenty of experience and success helping other drivers.
“I’m excited for a new beginning at the start of the 2022 season with Joey,” Zyck said. “I’m grateful for the opportunity that the Amantea Family has given me. A new beginning is always tough, but I feel we will be able to work very good together right off the bat and have a good 2022 season.”
Amantea is aiming to tackle a schedule ranging from 70-to-90 races encompassing winged and non-wing sprint car and wingless micro sprint divisions.
The only points racing the team currently plans to do is at Action Track USA in Kutztown, Pa. However, the 17-year-old said he is looking forward to competing in select races with the Rapid Tire USAC East Coast Sprint Cars, United Racing Club, Buckeye Outlaw Sprints Series, Xtreme Outlaw Series and the Eastern Storm with the USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Cars.
The team’s season is slated to begin on March 30 with a micro sprint show at Shellhammer Dirt Track in Shoemakersville, Pa., followed by a sprint car event at Bridgeport Motorsports Park in Swedesboro, N.J., on April 2.
